To recruit winning candidates

You see all the political huffing and puffing over at the Weekly Standard and the National Review - politics is absolutely all they concern themselves with - and you wonder, is this really the way to finagle information-poor white male voters into voting Republican?

Roger Ailes knows a thing or two at Fox News as this page shows, and that page does not even present those flashier, newer female anchors currently presiding over election nights. A calculation has been made to attract political viewers with attractive young females. Would this not carry over to the recruitment of Republican party candidates? Republicans are either recruiting physical types like this fellow Acuff (right) or attractive professional men like Romney (with low male voter appeal).

For those who think this superscillious, politics is damned superscillious. The marketing of politics as tremendously important, life-changingly important is a magazine/talkshow marketing ploy that is spinning out of control. Movement conservatism has traded God for politics and come out the loser.

This is not to say that we don't want to have things our own way. But many road lead to Rome. The Italians understand. Here are two members of right-wing parties sitting in parliament.

Mara Carfagna: Forza Italia

Michela Vittoria Brambilla: Il Partito della Liberta

These are candidates made for speaking tours, television spots, roundtables, commentary, Fox News, and all of that electronic omnivision that information-poor politicking has become.

How tough can it be to recruit candidates like this?
