Marshall McLuhan, Catholic thinker

Jonathan Miller (he of Beyond the Fringe) read McLuhan and was appalled by the Catholicism informing the text:

McLuhan found it necessary to elaborate a psychological theory which owes considerably more to the unacknowledged authority of St. Thomas Aquinas than it does to any of the scientific sources he openly refers to.

That was 40 years ago and the rest of us now need to catch up.
