We are China

Charles Hugh Smith:
Despite their many differences, the economies of China and the U.S. share a number of key traits: both are corrupt, rigged, crony-capitalist, rely on phony statistics and propaganda and operate with two sets of rules, one for the elites, and another for the masses.
I don't think anyone under 30 realizes how far we have come in the falsification of data, in the open courting and rewarding of cash patrons, and in the application of informality to government decisionmaking, waivers being a brilliant example of the collapse of law in the US.
